Thanks to our incredible nationwide network of food donors, volunteer food rescuers, nonprofit recipient partners, and community supporters, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) surpassed 24 million pounds of food rescued since 2013!
June by the Numbers
- 296K+ pounds rescued during June
- 900+ food pickups completed
- 10+ new food donors joined our network
- 12 large-scale food donors partnered with RLC
- 8 corporate volunteer events connected teams with hands-on food rescue experiences
Each of these numbers represents businesses choosing to donate surplus food instead of wasting it and communities receiving fresh, nutritious food that might otherwise have been discarded.
When businesses donate surplus food, they're helping:
- Increase access to nutritious food for nonprofit organizations and the communities they serve.
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with food waste.
- Maximize the value of food that has already been grown, produced, transported, and prepared.
Whether it's a one-time event donation or an ongoing food partnership, every rescued pound contributes to a stronger, more sustainable food system.
RLC continues expanding partnerships with restaurants, corporate offices, caterers, manufacturers, grocery retailers, hospitality businesses, and organizations looking to reduce food waste while making a positive community impact.
